krazykaine.wordpress.com I created this video to raise awareness about the growing number of dogs in pounds, shelter and rescues across the United States. “Four million cats and dogs—about one every eight seconds—are put down in US shelters each year. Often these animals are the offspring of cherished family pets. Spay/neuter is a proven way to reduce pet overpopulation, ensuring that every pet has a family to love them.” –Humane Society.org Dogs are being surrendered to pounds at an alarming rate. Dogs are being abandoned for trivial reasons such as house soiling, chewing, barking or moving. The arrival of a new baby or the misconception that dogs behave “just like the dogs from the movies” adds to the number of dogs surrendered to pounds each year. The dogs are the ones who ultimately suffer at the hand of human ignorance and irresponsibleness. Too often certain individuals fail to realize that they are the ones who brought the dog into their home. The dog didn’t choose to come live in their house. You can make a difference: Adopt Volunteer Donate Foster Rescue Spay/Neuter your pets Don’t settle for anything less than reputable breeding Support and spread positive dog training methods Special thanks to Josh Woodward for the songs, “Private Hurricane,” “Afterglow,” and On Brevity.”

Thanks for sharing this video. It really made me sad, but everything in this video is true. Me and my friend walk the dogs in shelter and we play with them and I train them too. After watching this video I sent a message to this shelter where we offered us as volunteers. I really want to help all these dogs in a shelter and I will neuter my dog in the future either(I don’t have a dog yet). Anyway very well made video, you and Heather are just wonderful persons. Your dogs are one lucky dogs!:)
This makes me so sad.. 🙁 great awareness ashley!
WONDERFUL Video Ashley!! Thank you
this is amazing. you guys are so inspirering, and im always going to adopt shelter dogs. you are amazing and soo helpful, and i bet all of the dogs you help/save are soo grateful 🙂
Same picture here in the UK. Cuddly puppies with a fine pedigree are lovely, but to rescue a dog, particularly an older dog, that is changing a life, changing his universe for the better. That’s gotta be worth working through some behavioural baggage or phobias for…
Thanks so much for creating and sharing this video. Makes me sad and angry at the same time. I’ve been fostering for over two years now and the condition of the dogs brought to me is appalling. However, the love of a dog can never been underestimated. Their capability to trust and love people again is amazing.
What a Wonderful Video Ashley 😀
About 4 million cats and dogs are put down in U.S. shelters each year. Did you also know that puppy mills sell about 4 million puppies and kittens in the U.S each year? Even if you don’t rescue, please buy from a reputable breeder.
Nice video, thanks for raising awareness.
