Why is my dog suddenly dog agressive?
He is a four year old jack russell shih tzu. brought up with other dogs but we adopted him and have no other dogs. He's always been good with other dogs, now like, overnight he is agressive lunging and trying to attack dogs. He's supervised all the time and nothing bad has happened. WHATS going on?
He was neutered in May. He gets a lot of exercise but is not as energetic as a jack russel.

The very first thing that popped into my mind was JRT. . . high energy dog. . . how much exercise is he getting? JRT are very high energy working dogs. Even if your dog is half JRT, that would be passes on. The fact that she was find when he was with other dogs, really makes me think that he is lacking in exercise. Dogs play, they run and jump and wrestle. Now that he is with you alone, I bet he is not getting half as much exercise as he used to.
Now what to do about that. . . well obviously exercise him more. How much is really hard to say. However far you are walking him now, I would double it. If you can get a backpack and have him carry water for the two of you.
Teach him tricks. You know you tired you are after you have to think a lot. Same for the dog, teach him basic obedience and that fun tricks. Roll over, jump through a hoop.
Check out httt://www.apdt.com find a trainer near you and take some obedience classes, or even more fun agility. Does he like ball . . . fly ball. So much to do with your dog now.
Even in the backyard, if you have one, play ball, tug ( if you no how, you always end up with the toy) frisbee, etc.
Get another dog. But only if you really want one. It would be way for her to get rid of excess energy.
Good Luck
